Established in 1987
Original Owner, Jerry Berndt, started Discover Diving Dive Center in his garage. He was a diver and wanted to share his love of diving with the rest of the world. Once he became too busy for his garage, he needed a place to move to and 92 Dunlawton Ave. in Port Orange, FL is where the storefront is now located.
After 25 years in the buisness, it was time for Jerry to retire and in March of 2011, Michele Reed became the new owner of Discover Diving.
Michele's passion and love for diving is why she became an instructor and is currently a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. Diver safety is a top priority when it comes to recreational diving. Her passion about these diving qualities spill out to the other instructors, as well as the interns who help in the store and out in the field.
Here at Discover Diving Dive Center, you are family and we hope you trust our instructors, feel safe learning from us, feel good about our recommendations and become confident divers: both in class and out on your own. We believe in the standards we use, the safe diving practices we teach and the continued support we give to our students and customers. That is what makes us a PADI 5 Star Dive Center.
